That would make this much easier.

Hey all! got it to boot from a leopard install disk by holding down option and then turning it on!

I was given a MacBook 4,1 with no hard drive, so I have a hard drive, and even after everything I know, how can I get an operating system on it?

When plugged into my windows 10 PC the hard drive is recognized as MBR, and I have an install disk of Osx leopard that I want to put on it, but If possible I want snow leopard. Thanks!

so, whats the problem? put the harddrive in there, put the disk in and boot?

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

IKR, but macs of this era seem to not like booting to ANYTHING because of EFI being on the HDD. nothing does anything.

IDK TBH. My best Idea is somehow installing the OS onto the HDD through a working OS and then popping the drive in the mac, But IDK. Kind of a mac noob.

To do that you need to be on mac, also the machine does not boot from USB due to the EFI being on the hard drive, which isn't there.

That really won't it checks to see if the system is a mac first. But it's solved now.

it can if you mess with the disk some and change what machines it is aproved to run on.
