Limited Backers in SC

So I'm pretty new to Star Citizen (pledged last night) and saw something on the front page. It says 3745 slots left (probably less now) and I'm wondering when that hits 0 will they no longer take pledges for alpha or beta? The number is dropping very quickly, and so I'm wondering if I'm one of the last to get in. What I am referencing is the pledge thing that shows how much longer till the next milestone.

i9 25.6 GHz with NeuronThreading, 256gb 6000 MHz RAM, GTX 990 OC 3024MHz 12gb, Skeletal X99 motherboard, 1 Petabyte SSD, Fractal Design Humaniod R1 Case, Herbivore 10,000W PSU, Noctua NF16 LP Derma Cooler.

Probably the only Star Citizen player who is planning on a career in Journalism instead of piracy, mining, trading, exploration, military, station management, etc.

Generation 0: The first time you see this add 1 to the number and copy it into your sig. Consider it a social experiment.

but i dont know which one

and is it worth it to fork out more money ?

also when it gets officaially released can i still buy it ?

will it be F2P or will i need to buy it later if i didnt buy it now ?

When it's officially released, it will be available for purchase. But it's non-subscription based. So you only need to buy the game and you can play it forever.
