How do you custom sleeve Cables?

Hey guys! I'm fairly new to the world of PC building, - I built my first ever rig about a year ago and have been learning new things ever since.  For those curious, I'll post the specs of my first rig down below :)

Anyway How do you do custom sleeve cables like this to match together a theme? (In picture below)

You either buy them sleeved from someone like Cablemod or you do it yourself kinda like this:

You can make your own extensions also, not THAT hard, just takes a while. And if you're doing it as a one off, it's no cheaper than buying a pre-made set given you have to buy all the tools. The Cablemod ones are great, unless you are looking for a really tight thick looking finish, because they seem to use thinner wire/sleeving which may not appeal to everyone.
