Looks like you are running the v7 client in ubuntu? If so, I think you are missing the bigadv option.

Please check my links on using the [H]ard ubuntu desktop install. This runs the v6 client with a bunch of optimizations that actually will yield better performance as it is all tweaked and already enabled for bigadv. The only thing with v6, you don't get the nice client. You will need to use say HFM.NET from a Windows system to monitor, but simple enough to setup. It's in the FAQ. :)

35k (top right corner of his cores picture) but he isn't doing BigAdv so that could easily be... a lot more if he switches over. Also, it's more than $150 because the processors in the motherboard he linked are dual cores, so that's 8 total which doesn't let you in to BigAdv. It sounds like he had to buy the hexa-cores separately, so it costs well over $150. Still cheap for a 4P rig, compared to Whaler's 32-core anyway.

Connection problem? Weird. So, in the same ubuntu install, v6 won't connect but v7 will?

If there is a connection problem, double check the network is online before you launch the client.

On my old Cisco switch, it can take up to 40sec for it to establish a link.

The v7 client doesn't care much if the network is down, but the v6 will (in my experience). Could this be a problem?

Yes, if you can surf on the box, shouldn't be an issue. Remember, bigadv will look like nothing is going on, for a while. :) The work units a a lot bigger. Also...

browse to \\x.x.x.x\fah and you can take a look at the logs to see if you can sort out what is going on...

You might need more RAM, my 16-core wouldn't install Ubuntu without 24GBs and some systems can be tricky... It says in your picture you have around 12, maybe upping it to 16 if you haven't already?

its working now i had a 700w power supply with it but when i installed the new cpu it would not power the server so i took apart my gaming rig and put a corsair 850w and it works fine.

And there is 16gb of ram when i had 3 cpu it disabled a couple of ram Dimms on the motherboard once i installed the fourth it recognized them.
