So I've been using cloth pads for about 10+ years (steelseries qck+) they feel amazing but these things wear out really quick! I usually go through 2-3 a year. The cost adds up very quick. My hands tend to get sweaty a bit and I think that might be the reason cloth pads wear out quick got me.

Last week I picked up the Corsair MM800 (rbg hard plastic pad) and so far I'm slowly getting use to the feel of it, my hands slide a bit but the accuracy is even better? My wrist don't hurt after long gaming sessions too.

Obviously they don't feel as nice as the cloth pads.

Generally one would think cloth pads are usually better when it comes to accuracy but it's weird because I'm doing much better with it.

I mainly play fps games like CSGO and overwatch.

I use a cloth based pad and honestly, I probably couldn't stand the plastic ones.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

100% personal preference. I like my giant desk sized matt from corsair, but some prefer the crisp glide of a hard top. I could never get used to it. I like the slight resistance of a matt

I don't know. I used to play without any mouse pad for a long time and  it was fine.

Now I play with cloth pad and it is fine as well. I never played with plastic or metal pad but top of my table is plastic so when I didn't used pad I thought it was really nice surface to use mouse on...  except it is slightly grainy surface.

Are you still using the Razer Mamba mouse, or did you change?
Lasers should work better on hard mats, so that might be why you feel an improvement in your aim/tracking of the mouse movement :)

I dumped the Razer Mamba tournament edition last week after going through 3 of them, I switched to the new Razer Deathadder Elite which came out about a month ago and its so much better!

The issue with the mamba was the optical sucked, kept stopping working in the middle of games, double click problems, overall a shit mouse that is overpriced.

Also an issue with the mamba if you lifted the mouse up and put it back down your mouse cursor kept going down and down, with the Deathadder this doesn't happen, it stays in its place.

Sure the mamba looked nicer, but they failed big time with the optical.

I like the feel of the Deathadder too.

i was considering going back to the G502 but my pinky kept getting hurt because of the slim design and not enough room for all my fingers to grip on the mouse.

Back to the pad I think I'll stick with the hard pad for now because it runs very smooth and my wrists are not hurting after long gaming sessions.
