CPU thoughts 4790k vs 6700k should I upgrade?

I have i7 4790k OC'd to 4.5 v 6700k, What is the biggest difference. I mostly game. My GPU is a 980ti EVGA classified. Is the DDR4 worth it? and Will the 1151 socket continue or should I wait a while?

dude pls. i have a 4790k and ddr3 in games you wont even see 1 fps boost if you upgrade. you can possibly better just get your cpu up to 4.7Ghz if you REALLY want to, but the upgrade from 4790k to 6700k is not worth it for a gamer :D

You won't see really any significant performance increase. Like really, don't.

for just gaming the difference should be minimal, since the biggest changes between the generations to my knowledge is mostly in background processes or specialized/professional software, although there is usb 3.1/usb-c support, but I doubt that will be needed any time soon.

May the light have your back and your ISO low.

Zero value in the upgrade, you are set for at least 3 more years.

The i7 6700K is obviously faster but the difference is marginal at best.

If you want to invest $400+ for a minor performance improvement, be my guest. Otherwise, not worth it at all in my honest opinion.

NO.You should not.

If you wanna spend some money, spend it on your GPU.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

No.

If you want an actual performance boost, you can probably get a good deal on a second hand 980ti for SLI.

My advice to everyone including myself is wait till the 7700k comes out and then make a decision. Why buy a 6700k when it's close to EOL?

This upgrade would be like upgrading a 980ti SSC to a 980ti Classified: There is NO REASON to do it whatsoever.

Ultra is stupid. ALWAYS.
