I never hear anyone talk about Rosewill. I am just wondering on what your opinion on them is. I hate the way they've basically overrun the PSU list on PC Part Picker.

My personal opinion:

Rosewill supplies crappy quality parts for what I consider normal prices for decent/good quality parts, especially when you compare them to other parts. Their cases are (apparently) poor quality from multiple reviews I've read, their PSUs are (apparently) all pretty low quality, and their case fans are loud as hell according to dozens of reviews on PC Part Picker, YouTube tech channels, and tech websites. The only Rosewill parts I've seen one of their parts that hasn't been really been viewed in a negative light is when it costs more than I make in a month.

What's your opinion of them?

Rosewill is Newegg's in-house brand and is a blanket brand for other oems. They have many products ranging from shoddy to excellent.

Some examples of their great products include Capstone psus or the RHMS-11003 dual arm stand that I'm currently using.

If you ever need help with a build, read the following before posting: http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/3061-build-plan-thread-recommendations-please-read-before-posting/

Capstone G is mediocre, but the Capstone is good.

I'm OK with them. They're Newegg's internal brand so they just sell OEM designs from various companies but at least they have SOME minimum standards.

You know their cheapest power supplies are lousy inside, but they're not Logisys or Apevia or Coolmax bad (brands which exaggerate their capabilities and some are ancient designs from the P4 days with some tweaking to handle more 12v)

In the slightly higher than lowest end they have good value for money and some series on the more expensive side are actually very good like the people above said.

See here which psu series are made by which OEM: http://orionpsudb.com/rosewill or here (more detailed): http://www.realhardtechx.com/index_archivos/Page2917.htm

Avoid just the Deer/Solytech power supplies (lowest end) and maybe the ATNG models which are very low wattage. ATNG and Sirfa are OK OEMs, Sirfa is the company that makes HIGH-POWER/Sirtec (Sirtec brand is used more outside US)

The only thing I've ever got from Rosewill was a sata cable if that counts? Not like they make anything lol....it's like how Corsair slaps their logo on a (mainly) Seasonic unit, Newegg slaps Rosewill on misc gear.

Corsair's current PSUs models are mostly CWT (then Great Wall (7), Flextronics (5)), there is only 2 models that Seasonic currently makes for Corsair (AX760, AX860)

Yeah, the reason why they moved to others is because Seasonic was and still is very reluctant to accept changes to their BOM (bill of materials) that would lower the quality of their products.

Corsair wanted to change capacitors to different (cheaper) brands in some series, change the fans to cheaper models, cut down on input filtering for power supplies sold in some territories etc

their quality seems to differ with every product they release, some stuff is amazeballs while others are better to be kept far away from consumers.

Especially their cases are interesting sometimes, very cheap but still worth for your money.

May the light have your back and your ISO low.

Point still stands that it's mostly rebranded oem gear with consumers defending (or bashing) on name brand alone lol
