Posted October 31, 2016 So I have a q6600 which refuses to go above 2.7ghz and 8gb ram with a 5-10 year old HDD (came with te system) Basically I'm wondering if I should go for a new setup (used for £65) as I have been littered with issue such as overclocking being shocking and things like having to restart several times to get audio and the pc losing sgnal and looping the audio after a couple of hours of seemingly intensive usage or just getting an ssd (used for £20) on the same sata II interface. Which do you guys think if either Is a viable upgrade? Or should I wait for Zen or something? i7 8700k 5.0GHz 4.0Ghz Cache (Stock Cooler) 2x8GB 3400mhz RAM 19-19-19-38 GTX 1060 3GB 2050Mhz Core, 9500Mhz Memory
 Posted October 31, 2016 What do you use the system for? A ssd will make day to day use faster, a cpu will make cpu relate tasks faster. What gpu and other spces.

Posted October 31, 2016 Lga 775 doesn't have sata 6gbps, so you won't see the full effect upgrading to a ssd. The i3 would be worth it. •E5-2670 @2.7GHz • Intel DX79SI • EVGA 970 SSC• GSkill Sniper 8Gb ddr3 • Corsair Spec 02 • Corsair RM750 • HyperX 120Gb SSD • Hitachi 2Tb HDD •
 Then save up the 20 pounds you'll need for an ssd down the line, because that will make everything seem faster. When in doubt, re-format.
 Posted October 31, 2016 Author Firstly I'm not being sassy but the real benifit of an ssd is the 4KB IOPS from 7200/60 x2 + inefficiencys of HDDs to anywhere from 10,000-100,000. But yh you're right I can't know how worn down it will be. And THANKS A MILLION for the answer!!! i7 8700k 5.0GHz 4.0Ghz Cache (Stock Cooler) 2x8GB 3400mhz RAM 19-19-19-38 GTX 1060 3GB 2050Mhz Core, 9500Mhz Memory
