I'm buying a 6700K but i noticed under memory types on intels arc database that it supports 2133 Mhz ram, i have 3000 Mhz ram already bought for my new build does this mean my ram wont work? or does this just mean it supports 2133+?

nope, if your mobo supports the RAM your CPU will run it at the full 3000mhz. the speed intel has listed on their site is only the speed intel has officially tested. all other speeds are not 'officially' supported, but will work fine.

You cannot define that it will work fine. It's like telling someone that the overclock to 4.2GHz will work. Intel is providing the spec because that is what they tested, and they've validated that the memory controller will support 2133MHz across the board. The memory controller in the CPU must be able to support speeds above 2133MHz, and it's very well possible that it will not due to the silicon lottery - yes, it applies here as well. Therefore, you cannot define that it will work just fine. Just because the motherboard claims support doesn't mean the CPU within the socket will.
