Hello and thank you for bothering to read this ,

As it is said in the title i plan to build a new computer , here are a list of things you might want to read before i start saying why i picked such part and so on.

1. Budget & Location
The Budget i have is currently a 5000€ budget.(I live in paris , and therefore the currency i use is euros).

2. Aim
The main aim would be gaming ; and by that i mean:

RTS gaming : Starcraft , total war ...

FPS gaming : Call of duty , battlefield 4 ...

MOBA gaming : League of legends , Dota 2 , Smite

MMORPG : WoW

i might also decide to use it for video editing sometimes.

3. Monitors
I hope to have Two BENQ xl2720LT running on my rig.i do not think that i will be adding more and i believe the resolution is 1920x1080 for both of them
LINK http://shop.benq.eu/store/benqeu/en_GB/pd/ThemeID.19795600/productID.275403400

4. Peripherals
I believe i have every peripheral i need so far , which are :

Razer Abyssus http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-abyssus/ (mouse)

Razer Naga : http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-mice/razer-naga/ (mouse)

Razer Black widow ultimate :http://www.razerzone.com/gaming-keyboards-keypads/razer-blackwidow-ultimate/ (keyboard)

5. Why are you upgrading?
I am sick and tired of my mac :) (macbook air)

So let's move on to the interesting bit :P

1) CASE

Well , firstly i hesitated between the corsair 900 D http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811139019 , however i recently came across another case that in my opinion , looks much better and is roughly the same , (please correct me if i am wrong ) , it is the Xilence Interceptor Pro

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Xilence-Interceptor-Gaming-Casing-Black/dp/B006LYMQ60

why did i pick it ? , because it just looks better , and i do not like the ''window side pannel'' on the corsair case.

UPDATE : i am now hesitating , as i've seen a xilence interceptor in real life and i's f*cking hudge ! however , it is cheaper

2) MOTHERBOARD

The motherboard i chose to pick was the ASUS mobo MAXIMUS VI EXTREME http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131974). I picked it after looking at some reviews over the internet and found that it was the best possible choice.I have not thought of anything else. If you think that there is a better option , please do not hesitate to help.

3) PROCESSSOR

Regarding the processor , i have chosen the Intel CORE i7 4770K http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819116901.Again , my choice is based on internet value per dollar Benchmark.I found arguments which stated that the I5 3770k was also good , but i thought it would be better to have a more recent piece of equipment.

4) GRAPHICS CARD

For the graphics card i have chosen to pick the GTX titan http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121724 , as i am not willing to put over 1000€ for a graphics card ; and according to what i have read , the card is performing nearly as good as my second choice  , GTX 690 (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814121636

UPDATE: I have decided to wait for the 780 TI card to come out.

Source: http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-review,3107-8.html

5) RAM

I kind of chose this one. I dont believe that this one is the best for me. i Still want 32 G of ram , so i can get the most out of my system.

gskill ripjaws X series 32 G http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231487

Please help me regarding my ram !

UPDATE : I believe i will go for less ram after taking feedback from what peeps in this thread have told me. Less ram is better.

I wish to get the Corsair dominator platinum series 1866Mhz 4x4

Please , do not hesitate to give me some advice if you think you have better in mind !

6) SOUND CARD

I have chosen the asus Xonar Phoebus  http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16829132054 , as i play a lot of fps, might want to have a good audio quality as well.

Besides , i do have DJ decks at home , so i might decide to use the computer for this as well (NUMARK NS6)

7) POWER SOURCE

As the whole machine would require a lot of power , i need to have a good power supply , therefore i choose this one http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151105 this Seasonic plat 1000 power supply is just what i need.

8) CPU COOLER

I have chosen the Corsair 100i , as it is a very famous brand in my country (france) and has a lot of positive reviews http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16835181032

Update : I have decided to go with a custom water loop

9) HARD DRIVE

I have chosen two Seagate Barracuda 2TB hard drives , as i need a LOT of space for my movies and stuff ( NOT PORN!!!) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16822148834

Seagate just make the best hard drives in my opinion

I also need to learn how to set up a raid 1 and a Raid 0 for back up

10) SSD

For my SSD i have chosen a Plextor 500gb , as i have been told that it is better to store your games and other stuff on the ssd , as it has a faster reponse time. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=20-249-028&Tpk=SSD%20plextor%20PX%20512%20M5P

11) BLUE RAY DRIVERS/WRITERS

i have chosen two asus branded Writer / reader , as i trust asus with my life ( maybe not) http://www.materiel.net/lecteur-optique-blu-ray/asus-pack-bc-12b1st-5-bd-r-lth-25-go-82169.html

12) MONITORS

As i stated before , i plan to run two BENQ xl2720lt monitors on my RIG

Well , i believe that is everything.

Now to the HArd part , THE BILL !!  :o  :o  :o  :o

It comes up to 4358.96€ according to the french amazon store.

I would like to thank you for the time you took to read this , do not hesitate to give me advice and feedback.

Many thanks ,

Alex

I would drop the 4770K to a 4670K while dropping two Titans to two 780s.

Even then it'll be overkill and still be cheaper.

Also, get 1866MHz RAM.

Desktop: Intel i5-3570K (stock) | Asus Sabertooth Z77 | G.Skill RipJaw 16GB 1600MHz | Samsung 840 120GB | EVGA GTX 680 SC+ 2GB | Fractal Design R4 | Windows 8 Pro (soon to have dual boot Mac OS X)

Forget the Titan for now, wait for GTX 780TI and see if Nvidia drops their GPu prices a bit (if you want to go Nvidia way).

Get 4930k CPU instead of 4770k, you'll benefit of it more than out of a custom water cool (why spend so much on cooling when you can have a better performing parts to start with? cooling is the LAST thing you should consider adding to the build).

you kidding? i5 will not stand it's own in future nextgen games with an SLI onboard. If he wants overkill i would get 2x 780TI (when they come out) as well as i7 4930k for the 6 real cores, smokes everything else.

i said i7 has hyperthreading which may help it with multi-thread optimized games, so i'd consider i7 as a baseline for any Intel hardcore gaming rig... and on top of that a 4930k which actually has 2 more real cores which is a LOT to help with any multi-threaded code.

There is no difference? You serious? That's only for gaming. Seriously, try render a video with both and see which one is way faster.

Im wondering if it work that way, if you have 5000 dollars, that is about 3600€. If you buy something that costs for example 4000 dollars you'll probably go over budget so post you budget in euros and link to sites your willing to buy from so the budget will hold for sure

Stock coolers - The sound of bare minimum

get 3tb drives, the euro/GB is better and get gtx780's and save the cash, also get a 3770k, it is cheaper "but id doesnt perform as good" per clock its only 5% slower but its 10% cheaper and produces less heat, I usually reccommend AMD but you're playing allot of poorly threaded games so when I say 3770k you can believe im not saying it lightly.

just re-done it, this is a more sensible rig (sorry but yours isnt overkill, ive spec'd overkill, its 61 grand), save the cash and buy a nice car or something.
this rig will perform the same or better in rendering (faster ram>more ram (over 8gb anyway).

it will perform the plenty good enough in gaming because the 780 uses the same gpu for the most part as the titan, you dont need 2000euro of graphics cards yet.

Did you notice how i mentioned 4930k with this kind of budget being the only viable option?

i said i7 has hyperthreading which may help it with multi-thread optimized games, so i'd consider i7 as a baseline for any Intel hardcore gaming rig... and on top of that a 4930k which actually has 2 more real cores which is a LOT to help with any multi-threaded code.

The only properly multithreaded game on that list is bf4, the rest are dual cores with 1 exception being LOL which has 2 heavily use cores and 2 lightly threaded ones (perfect for an i3) an i5 would be perfect if he wasnt rendering, that in mind he can get an i7 for half the price of a 4930k and be done with it.

There is no difference? You serious? That's only for gaming. Seriously, try render a video with both and see which one is way faster.

He didn't say he was rendering video.

Meh, this is something so iffy haha.

How sure are you about editing? If it's something you will do later then yes. If it's a very maybe thing, then we shouldn't spend much more on the CPU.

I have to YELL here, do not spend money just because you have it, spend it because you will use it.

Spending 400€ on 32gb off ram while you are using about 8/12 at most, is just stupid. Sure it's good for the economy I guess...

Do you want watercooling? A custom loop that is.

When are you buying it? Nvidia is coming out with their 780Ti's around november. Wich could be a nice option for you.

Hello my belgian neighbour! ,

I have looked at wc but it is too expensive.

What do you mean by editing?

I will probably wait for december , smth like that ..

Thanks anyway guys for your replies

Hi, EG Fan!

WC is not to expensive for your budget. you can get it done for about 400/500€. If you want it to look super fancy, then you go up quickly €800. Fittings are quiet expensive

Video editing is something that gets the use out off the i7 processors, even more the 2011 socket. Here is a video off Premiere Pro CS6. There are a lot off editing programs, but this one is pretty populair.\

If you buy it in december, then I highly suggest to completely forget about this build for now, till well - december. New stuff comes out, GTX 780Ti for example. So there could be stuff that you really like in those new things.
