Don't discount the Superclocked EVGA edition. It's a beautiful card and it was on sale for $390 a couple days ago. I think it might be $410 now with $20 rebate on the Neweggies

The only reason I'm thinking of going with Strix is coz they got 3 fans and the cool thing is they turn off when temps are low

Avoid the FTW. EVGA though it's not necessary to have any VRM cooling. Their GPUs this generation are riddled with issues.

Strix, MSI Gaming X and Palit Gamerock would be your safest bet.

Because you're not rendering videos or analyzing data as your job?

You're gaming.

The 6700k performs better at gaming.

You don't need X99 to do SLI.

Two 1080s will work perfectly fine on Z170.

And you can't add more because 2 way SLI is the limit now.

Even if you could, 3 and 4 way SLI is stupid and shouldn't be done anyway.

I don't need that much shit to use onboard graphics, any others? I liked the EVGA Z170 FTW.

Recommend any others

There are cheaper asus z170 ones too with less stuff.

I'm voting the evga simply because of support and the unfortunate event that you have to use it.

I've had to do 2 Evga RMAs over the years(Granted this was on a 8800gt and gtx280 so a while ago) they only asked what they needed to and turn around was around a week give or take from the time I called and sent the cards to the time I got them back. Asus on the other hand took them 2 weeks from the time tracking showed that they recieved my card (gtx 580 DIrectcu 2 that died after about 7 months) they then proceded to send me back the same dead card. From there I did a cross ship RMA and was sent a card that showed artifacts at post and wouldn't boot. They finally sent me a 3rd one which ended up working but in the end it took almost 3 months. I'm not saying everyone is going to have the same experience and it may have been a stroke of bad luck but it defiantly made me a little hesitant to buy or recommend Asus products. Sadly after a quick search of asus RMA I'm defiantly not the only one with asus RMA horror stories.

Yeah that's basically the same thing as the Z170a just with less additional features.
