Decent PSU under 35 USD?

Guest

.

The title. I've been looking at an EVGA PSU but I've seen a lot of bad comments about it. It'll likely be replaced in 3-6 Months when i was thinking of upgrading the system farther.

I have a q6600 I'm looking to overclock.

Spoiler

Intel q6600

8GB Ram

ADATA SP550 120GB

2x Geforce 9800 gt 1gb

I don't know.

Yes, it's 2871 as in the year 2871. I traveled all this way, back in time, just to help you. And you thought your mama lied when she said you were special-_-

god no. thats one of the worst choices out there.

anything on this list tier 3 or higher is recommended, especially since psus are one of the few components you can reuse in any build

id recommend cx450m, which occasionally drops to under $30 after rebate

for $35, cx500/600 after rebates should be fine.

its not the best but it'll do for your pc. not sure if your 9800gt SLI needs how many watts so i left the cx600 as an option.

tier 4, so its okay. however, you said you plan to upgrade later on, so if you have the money then it could be worth it to spend a bit more on a quality psu and reuse it later, rather than buying 2 mediocre psus

That particular EVGA is only marginally better than Sam Phong's Chinese Firecracker Factory 500-BOOM Powr Suply. The 80+ range is passable for medium-duty machines, but holy crap not that 400W arson box.

Aerocool DS are the best fans you've never tried.

I'm quite certain it'll fit, But will the CX500 fit in my Corsair 100 R? Just want to be sure.

When JonnyGuru reviewed the EVGA 400W, it didn't die on him, although he did have some complaints.

At the end of the review, he strongly recommends going for the EVGA 430W instead, which he says is MUCH better.

I've also seen the EVGA 500B often drop as low as $30, and I do remember at least once or more a mail-in rebate (I hate those things) was not required.
