Its fine, but because stupid people have done stupid things, so REMOVE THE ELECTRONICS BEFORE PAINTING!!! It is also a good idea to use some sort of engine enamel as it is made to non withstand heat and is non conductive (usually, check whatever you buy) incase you absolutely mess something up.

I really wanna spy paint the heat shield of my asus rog formula mother bord. Do you think it would be ok to do that?

Should be fine, use plastidip if you want to remove it later.

paint made for cast iron intakes and exhaust headers.

yeah, what's spy paint?

You don't need high heat paint, regular spray paint is perfectly fine.

talking about the adhesion of the paint. "regular" spray paint sucks in comparison.

You got to use either a self-priming paint, or primer beforehand, if anything rough it up with fine sandpaper, don't just spray the paint it right on first.

It's not a problem if you want to spray paint the heat sink, it would be best to remove the heatsinks from the motherboard before painting. If your interested I have a guide here on that under Motherboard and RAM Painting:
