No. They usually play games at 1280x720 or 1920x1080 at 30fps. Battlefield 1 has a system in place where it changes resolution to make sure the fps is stable.

*whoosh*

if only studios developed games for consoles like Nintendo does

i mean DICE has a fantastic track record on current gen consoles

On Launch

More Recently

This is the first current gen game from DICE with a dynamic resolution, they used 1600x900 on PS4 and 1280x720  on Xbox One until this game

The cause is not dynamic resolution. The cause is a typo in the code. Way to make a sensationalist statement :P

I've been playing it all day on PC and I swear this shit is in the PC version too. Obviously it's working as intended but I have noticed, on more than one occasion, the texture quality change on things like the ground & mountains.

I wondered what was going on and I was also wondering how my 970 was maintaining 60fps (most of the time) on Ultra with no AA @ 1440p.

Its a fucking amazing game though, had a few MP runs which is fun but I always do the campaign first and that is top notch. My only real gripe is mouse acceleration which can't be disabled (even with raw input enabled its still there) which makes the flying missions impossible on mouse & keyboard, I had to switch to the XB pad for Story 2.

Texture quality changing is an issue, but it's different from dynamic resolution scaling.
