iPad won't detect in iTunes

I am trying to sync an iPad 4 with iTunes, but iTunes wont detect that its pluged in.

When I plug in the iPad it makes the sound to say that its plugged in, but iTunes doesn't show it, and it doesn't appear in My Computer as a camera either. It detects fine in Windows 7, 8, and Mac OS X, but not in XP. my iPhone detects fine too, so its just the iPad. Does anyone know how to fix this?
