What makes the 5.1 result impressive is the fact that it is on air, an unspecified air cooler at that. Potentially, a custom loop could get that voltage down quite a bit. We already know Skylake is safe at 1.4v if thermals are taken care of, so Kaby should be the same in that regard. 

What I meant it is more complex to get a stable overclock that way than simply change the multiplier and increase voltage to insure stability. Very little people can manage BLCK overclocking. That means it is insignificant to the casual overclocker which is why I would like a realist overclocking scenario for the typical oveclocker rather than what is included in the article.

 

Secondly, BLCK overclocking boosts everythings speed going from RAM to pci slots passing by SATA ports which is not something you would want for day to day use

This no longer applies to Skylake or Kaby Lake. PCIE is no longer strapped to BCLK. 

 

I do understand your point, but a lot of us older overclockers came from BCLK overclocking. It's all we had back then, and some of us still use it (170BCLK on my Skylake 6600T for example). I am certain the raw CPU overclock would be stable with a simple multiplier overclock. Probably some sort of random integer division error holding them back from doing that now, and a BIOS/Microcode update might be required to use just the multiplier on the Z170 boards they are using. The multiplier itself could also be limited to 50 or something, don't really have the details yet.

New storage technology that uses physical DIMM slots for non-volatile storage. Basically an SSD that you can put into a memory slot. I personally question it's use in the desktop world, but for mobile devices that already use soldered ram, a soldered, low-profile storage solution isn't a bad idea for a thinner product in a spatial sense.
