Buying 2nd Card

I'm thinking about buying a second gtx 970 strix for SLI. I'd be buying the card used as they're around the $200-$225 price range right now. Should I do this or sell my current gtx 970 and get something else??

Sell it. Not all game support SLI and the power consumption of 2 card is more than 1 card but better.

How much you can spend after selling your 970?

Depends on what I'd actually get for my gtx 970.. Maybe $400 total? Not 100% to be honest.

Then a GTX 1070. Perform better than a 970 in SLI

Definitely gonna recommend selling your 970 and getting a 1070. I used to have two MSI 970s in SLI and I found the benefits to be... really meh.

@LordSlimJimm I'd recommend you get another card like the 1060 6GB or 1070 unless you can find the same model 970 for less than what you'd end up paying for a 1070.

Would that be worth it though? Aren't the 1060 and 970 very close in performance? What about the Rx 480?

480 and 1060 6GB are close in performance. I'd go with the 1070, personally, but the disparity between the 1060 6GB and the 970 is worth it if you sell for about 200.
