Three Way CrossfireX on Sabertoth x79

My dad Wants to upgrade his gpus on his computer (currently dual GTX 770 in sli) to three RX 480 for ethereum mining is three way RX 480 crossfireX possible on his board?

If you're asking whether it's possible on his board, you have to tell us what his board is.

It has 3 3.0x16 PCI slots, however only 2 are at x16, while one is only 8x. Personally I would get a new motherboard, to get DDR4

my dad bought a new car a few months ago so a new computer is not realy possible but i tough him the way of AMD gpus and he wants to get three of them for there utter cheapness (compared to the GTX 1080)

Ok, he will defiantly be fine with two, but I'm not sure how much that x8 slot will effect a 3 card crossfire.
