HL3 VS GTA V?

So GTA V had to be one of the most anticipated game to come out this year, or well for a while in my opinion. So what do you guys think of, if Half Life 3 came out the same time GTA V did for PC? And will Half Life be for PC (steambox) only? Do you think it will beat GTA V records? 
Do you think Half Life 3 will be out for PS4 and Xbox?

I think HL3 will set alot of records, but that's just how much I love Valve. :3

Half Life 3 won't happen, at least for another two or three years. I agree HL3 will probably set a lot of records. I'm hoping for Portal 3 though, I've never really liked Half Life.

That is true, but I'm going to say if there was even a little teaser of HL3, it would be everywhere. Not sure how many fans they have kept over the years, but I'm hoping for tons.

Half life isn't marketed to the lowest common denominator, GTA is. Different markets. No matter how popular GTA is or will be, the Half Life series will always hold a special place in my heart.

Right!!? I know the majority of people who play it love it, but it's missing too much for me. 

Once it comes out for PC, there better be modding support.. Then it might be one of the best games I have .

Strangely enough, I did not play the original HL.....but when HL2 was released, I decided to give it a go and got hooked on it. 'Course it was followed by Ep1 and Ep2 along the way......even play HL when I was done with them. As for GTA, I never understood the hype behind it........I have not played a single GTA game and have never felt an urge to. It simply does not appeal to me, NOT that I have anything against violence in games (it's only a game), I just don't get it.....I guess it's just me.

GTA: Online is as broken as the US Government right now. But it is a LOT of fun. Rockstar always do very well in putting in the little but awesome details into their games. Things as small as being able to have your car washed, robbing a convenient store, or even being able to attach trailers to vehicles. I love that.

Funny you mention cars... They made them so bad now.. I loved to feel like I had some control over the car, like swaying it back and fourth as I turned really fast, now it's just jerking back and fourth. And that flipping over thing? what a joke. It just feels like they made it appeal to the people who just want to shoot people, and ram people, not the people who love to drive in the game.. Which is what you do alot of. 

That's my biggest rant, I could go on forever about it.

I don't know why they downgraded the cars. I honestly thing is was a big deal in GTA IV. The damage was the best in any open world game. I don't see a good reason for changing it. You could smash your car to hell in IV, and still drive it. I have no idea what they think they where doing. I want it to come out for PC so maybe I can go and edit some of the files like in GTA IV. You could make the cars damage easily or hardly at all, and change the handling. Hoping for the best.

Agreed. I sincerly hope GTA V on PC is just a shitty port like on GTA IV. Too many issues at launch with that game.

It just pisses me off! I don'e my research, and most people are saying it was improved, or it'slots of fun... Jeez how much of a child do you got to be to say that?!

It just really gets me on edge how you can hit somebody full speed, and maybe loose a bumper...

Half Life 3 and GTA 5 are two completely different games to compare.

 

I will admit that Half Life 3 will never sell as well as GTA 5 did as Half Life is more tuned to a specific audience whereas GTA targets everyone.

 

However, Half Life 3 will cause a storm on the internet once some actual info is available as it holds a special place in a lot of people's hearts, including my own.
