Hello, guys. Really need help on this one. Got a new cpu, ram, mobo, power supply cooler. Put everything together, worked great. Got an ROG swift, and it was getting around 100fps in bf4. Anyway, been couple of weeks now, and it started acting weird. MY 6700K in stock, bounces around in usage, up to 90-100 percent!!! Even on desktop, and any other software or game. And in bf4 now lags, drops fps to nearly 0. Also couple of freezes. Temps are fine, I got 240 AIO on it, and doesn't go over 50. Don't rally know what to do.

Spec - Cpu 6700k

             Mobo maximus hero viii

             Ram 16gb corsair 2100mhz

             2x gtx 770

             Cooler master Neptune  240mm aio

             Corsair rm1000i

             Ssd Corsair force 180gb

Really hope someone can help me.

Cheers

Sounds like your install of Windows is wrecked somehow, or maybe you're on an older Nvidia driver (I had some bad luck with the earlier Windows 10 WHQL drivers whoring up CPU).

look at your processes in the task manager and see what uses up all that cpu power, if its svchost.exe than you have a virus. svchost.exe is a normal windows system file but its often the easiest to infect for viruses.

It's not that then. Doesn't matter what I do, anything I open will spike the CPU. Even refreshing on desktop spikes to 20% usage.

I clean installed the drivers, all up to date.

He said clean install windows, the WHOLE windows, not just drivers.

Windows explorer. Even opening a new tab in Chrome spikes to 50% or more.

does it have multiple instances running in task manager and windows startup? sounds like a Trojan.Poweliks. try submitting explorer.exe to virustotal.com to confirm.
