On-screen Items larger near outer edges of monitor

I just purchased the above monitor and in games things displayed near the outer edges are larger than when they are at the center of the monitor.  Is increasing the FOV in games supposed to fix that?  I tried it in Skyrim but did not notice a change with the sizing issue.  Or is it supposed to be like that on ultra-wide monitors?  I'm new to this larger format and would appreciate any insight.

You mean statistics like bullet count or stamina or health on your HUD changes width when they are on the edge on your ultrawide?

Some games do have that issue, where they just stretch out the HUD to not feel like it's too small on the increased vertical resolution

You bring up a good point.  I was actually referring to anything in games.  So like a tree or NPC on the right or left side of the screen is noticeably wider than when it is at the center of the screen.  I did not think to check if that was happening with HUD items.  I will check when I get home today.

That is a known issue with triple screen setups, but I didn't know that happens on ultrawide resolutions too.

What happens on triple screen setups is that the middle screen is the normal game and the sides are both 50% more of the normal view, but it's stretched out to fill the entire screen. This gives a weird effect when actually looking at it (which I am sure it is on your problem too).

There may be some scaling options in games, but I have heard 'Flawless Widescreen' is a good program for some games that do not support ultrawide resolutions though.

Have a read through this wiki from the ultrawide sub reddit:

https://www.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemasterrace/wiki/index

They also say you can search for the game in the sub reddit to see if people have had questions (and hopefully answers) for making it work.

I Would not say it's an issue, you don't notice it when looking at the main screen, it looks normal.
