It doesn't even reach the gigabyte splash screen

edit: just took the CPU out of the slot and it isn't even hot

Ok, time to do RAM testing.

Just one stick at a time, test it on each slot. Then test each additional stick, once on each slot.

Hello Iam having this problem with my pc that it would turn off after 10 seconds I had this before but fixed by reseating the CPU now it's doing this all the time I read some articles and they said to replace the psu so I did I bought a cx430 from corsair but it's still doing it I have tried almost everything (reseating:ram,CPU,gpu, hdd, ssd, fans, case)

please help me I need this pic for school and gaming of course

Does a CPU heat up so fast in 10 seconds? If so I will try mayby fitting my 1150 stock heatsink with some thermal paste

Yes they can. but usually the most common culprit is the RAM. try jut one stick in each slot. if just one cell on that ram is bad, when the CPU tries to access that the pc just dies.

Yes, without a heatsink it will reach its thermal shutdown temperature (110 degrees or around that) in 10 seconds.

Lucky you, LGA 1150 heatsinks fit just fine on LGA 1151 sockets.

The PC would freeze though, rather than shut down in a snap.

no i've had plenty of bad ram sticks that just force a shutdown immanently. it's more rare, but still happens.

CPU should be fine, but do try the other heatsink if one of the push pins on this one is broken.

It didn't do it it would start and the fan on the 1150 heatsink would go crazy then it would calm down and shut off again

Sounds like thermal problems to me, the fan goes crazy because the CPU is really hot.

Make sure the heatsink has thermal paste and makes good pressure on the CPU. If the pins aren't enough, maybe you'll have to use zip ties, but see if you can get into the BIOS and look at the CPU temperature as the computer shuts down.

Ok, time to do RAM testing.

Just one stick at a time, test it on each slot. Then test each additional stick, once on each slot.

Okay so I switched around the ram sticks and now it gets me into the bios but when I continue I get something called shell

and showing my hard drives is this because I took out the cmos battery?

And what do I need to do
