Painting Fans

I'm looking into getting some new case fans and am looking at the ones noctua makes. I know they have a great reputation and are quiet but there is one problem, I think they are hideous. Can I just paint these black, or will that affect their airflow/silence. Also any other recommendations for case fans?

Maybe not the wings but outside will be fine.

Don't. It's not good for several reasons such as flattening, weight unbalance, noise, etc...

If you want black fans you can get the industrial PPC version, or the redux fans which are gray.

Bequiet, fractal design, and noiseblocker also have fans which look great and are just as good as noctua, sometimes even better.

I wouldn't buy noctua fans with paint cans because it can be more expensive than buying a decent fans that matches your color theme.

I mean, Corsair's AX fans are pretty nice.
