I don't see how it's a smart move on AMD's part. Those diehard fans who can't afford a Titan will buy a 1080 or will wait for a 1080Ti. So Nvidia makes a bit less money as buyers will either get the cheaper 1080 or wait for the cheaper 1080Ti -- that's not really AMD's goal (or it shouldn't be).

Well i think that manny diehard Nvidia fans could be pretty pissed that they hold back the 1080Ti this long, because of AMD´s move not to give them any competition.

Now Nvidia tanks as much and long as they can from their midrange chip.

And most diehard users who cannot afford a Titan, do know that traditionaly only 2 month´s or so after the Titan they will release a cut down 1080Ti with the same chip as the Titan.

But because Nvidia didnt get any competition, they can hold back the 1080Ti as long as they can.

So yeah, its pretty akward for Nvidia fans imo.

Because of lack on competition, atleast in DX11.

Also not to forget, if Nvidia had release the 1080Ti on their regular release schedule, then the GTX1080 would allready had been way more affordable for the average user aswell.

But now Nvidia can keep their prices for the midrange chip as high as they want untill atleast January.

Because AMD doesnt give them competition yet.

So yeah basicly the gamers are the people that get screwed here.

And thats exactly why we need competition.

I absolutely hate reading comments when people complain about the cost of an item.

We get it, you're young and can't get your parents to buy it for you or you can't save money to afford something nice and then you come to online forums to bitch about the cost and how the people who work hard and buy nice things are stupid for spending the cash.

If you spent the time you do bitching online and put that effort into some IRL shit, you might just be able to afford that $1600 6950x

This! I sincerely agree. Why do you think I treated myself to a  $600 motherboard? Because I worked for it.
