Stealth or GS63vr

The stealth can kind of play games

TF2 and MC should be fine off of iGPU, but other games like Grid will need the Core. Overall I'd say blade+core. You will need a GPU though, maybe a 1060.

Compared to last post's topic of the stealth and the blade, I'd rather do two more "affordable" choices for me. My choices are the Msi gs63vr at around $1.6-1.7k and the blade stealth and core at $1.55k. I do not care about the temps, but one concern for me is to play games, and overall battery life. The 63vr has a max 4 hour battery life and can play games very well. The stealth can kind of play games but has increased performance with the core. It also has an 8 hour battery life while browsing, an increased one compared to the old stealth with its new energy efficient kaby lake processor. Please note, I just want to be able to play minecraft, TF2, and Grid Autosport on high settings with it at good framerates.

Thanks, your opinion counts.

You just need a 960m to play these. You grab the Y700 for like 1k.

go for the stealth, but keep in mind that you need a gpu to use the core (or for it to have a purpose anyways)

I do have a 960 gpu, I can put that in the core. Also I choose these both because they're thin an light. If I wanted something cheap and a bit thicker I'd go with the Msi gs43vr

OP you made me sad. Why the fuck would you even look at that craptop called razer blade. It thermal throttles a lot and the life spand of laptop is very short and it is loud ad fuck(60dB), it is build lile shit, sure the materials the body is made from is good, but the way it is put together is shit. Razer have no quality control so guess what, you might get one that is broken from the start. The keyboard they put on them is also shit, that keyboard should be on a 600$ laptop. Also guess what you already loose 20-30% performance with TB3 and then you also have that sweet shitty dual core, so look forward to not getting full 960 power and you will not be able to go above a 960, because then the bottleneck that the CPU makes will be even higher and the TB3 bottleneck will also go up. So GG razer you made a shit product.

People that think it is okay for a laptop to thermal throttle is the cancer of consumer's, because companies look at razer and see oh they sell well, even though their laptops thermal throttle and is just pure shit, so they also start making laptops that cannot handle the parts inside of it. At some point you end up with laptops that just overheat with a document and a chrome tab open, because "it is okay that it thermal throttles", no it is not, you don't get the performance that you paid for, the life spand of the components goes down, it will be a hot to the touch and just a bad experience.

I'm going off of the reviews of the new blade stealth. Not the old one, not the blade- the blade stealth. I absolutely do not care about temps. I'll be in freezing temperatures. I do not need an extreme gaming notebook. I want an ultrabook with reviews of in person that I can check, are reliable sources or a recommendation about one of my choices from someone with a competitor brand telling me something is as bad as it is. Just tell me one or the other.

u do u. seems like you made up your mind. if you refuse to accept that the new blade stealth severely bottlenecks any desktop gpu + tb overhead performance lost and you don't care about your money, fuck it, buy it then. We're just telling you facts. Btw none of those "reviews" actually do any reviewing. They awe and gawk at the cherry picked no quality control version that Razer sends them and then proceeds to avoid doing stress testing or doing core testing.
