So im at a loss here. I cant decide between http://www.aorus.com/Product/Features/X5 v6 or https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00RYZ6INW/ref=crt_ewc_img_gw_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER along with a 1080... My budget is around $2000 and I make and edit a good bit of footage. Im tilted towards the Aorus because of the "Stream engine" which basically seems like a built in capture card making my streams and recording seem alot less dependent on taking control of the cpu or gpu. Please help a guy by leaving opinions as I never fully trust my own.

Id go aorus. The msi is older(haswell) and requires a dock for a gpu, which isn't hotswap.

The only reason im so unsure is the sheer future proofing of the msi. What about when volta comes out?

but other than that the msi is pretty much nothing but older as it doesnt even have a usb-c, or the pretty nvme drive like the aorus.

The 1070 is going to be fine for a while. The cpu is also a good amount older, and limted to 16gb of ram instead of 32.

the dock just seems way too clunky to me.

but muh cinebench scores, the 4870 scored higher

Im sorry guys im an indecisive cuck, At fist I was getting the 15.6'' sager with a 1070, but the backorder made me think twice as ive been on the list ever since august... Now ive canceled that order and replaced it with the aorus but im considering canceling that too and cucking xotic out of the purchase they've so dearly helped me with.

im not carrying it around, its probably just for at home.

yeah i know it just seems like it would be awkward using it on the dock. also at that point you might as well buy a portable laptop and build a desktop for gaming at home that way you have future proof in the desktop and a laptop for taking around and doing things that don't require a dedicated gpu.

ive heard it doesnt throttle when maxed, but the fans sound like a truck

Fans like a blower dryer yes. No throttling remains to be seen. Pretty sure a Aorus rep confirmed it's running 90C+ at 100% load so that's pretty fucked. Honestly, just have to wait and see.
