Posted September 27, 2016 Unless you want or need a larger CPU cooler you could look at the Cryorig C7. I have a C7 and I really like it. I'm using it on a 6700K and even on that it's not as loud as the stock Intel cooler, looks a lot better, and can be installed with the included washers so no backplate is needed. Though the C7 does include a backplate if you'd want to use it. I assume that on a non-K CPU the C7 would be a bit quieter if it was cooling a lower tdp CPU than a 6700K. Having the cpu be much cooler than necessary doesn't do anything. What cpu do you have and what are your load temps? Have you tried lowering the fan speed?
