Question: if I reset the bios will it rid of the other drives? For the 224gb drive is not even plugged in anymore and it still shows

Yeah, you could try to load optimised defaults or whatever it's called.

You said you unplugged another 224GB drive?

Did you have that drive plugged in while installing windows?

Because that could be why it's not booting....

When you install windows you should have only 1 drive plugged in or it can screw up the partitions.

Maybe try installing windows again with only your main OS drive plugged in this time.

Ok so here is the looong story

So I just built my new pc, and I got the windows installer and installed it under home edition. But since I did not want to pay the 100usd, I got a code from eBay for 18usd (and its legit btw) but it is for pro. So I managed to format my hardrive and trying to reinstall windows with the code. Now it accepts the code and works without a flaw till it says it needs to restart. It restarts and when it boots it goes to the installation screen and repeats the steps of what I did before, into a big loop. Am I screwed? Can I fix it?

Are you booting from an iso on a usb drive? Or from a disc?

Unsure what power supply to pick?

Check out my HTPC build.

When it restarts you need to unplug the USB drive.

You don't have to do the installation process again, when you get to the screen that asks you to install there should be a button somewhere to restart.

Your drive shows up in the bios, right? Is it in the boot list?

Well put the drive you just installed windows on at the top of the list and remove the other stuff.

If you installed windows you should be able to boot from it now.

Yeah, you could try to load optimised defaults or whatever it's called.

You said you unplugged another 224GB drive?

Because that could be why it's not booting....

When you install windows you should have only 1 drive plugged in or it can screw up the partitions.

Maybe try installing windows again with only your main OS drive plugged in this time.

Thank you so much for your help!!!

So I redid the bios and booted from the windows on the correct hard drive (the 224 still was there)

And well, now it works and my windows pro is activated!

Again, thank you so much for your help, as if I would still be trying to figure it out
