Logitech G610 buzzing when backlight dimmed

Biecher

Hey guys,

I bought a Logitech G610 keyboard for cheap two days ago.

Sadly, it is emitting a buzzing sound when I dim the backlight.

Is this a known problem with this keyboard?

Should I return it for a new one or pick another model?

thanks

call the retailer you bought it from, if it's actually *audibly* buzzing most will take it back under warranty.

I bought it on amazon, so returning it is not a problem.

Im just wondering if this is a known problem with this keyboard

okay, thank you for the link.

The problem consists when using the software. I'll try returning it.

I hope the new one is fine, because I really like the keyboard.

DOAs happen, let me know if the issue persists when you get a replacement ;)

It's resonance, similar to coil whine.  I would say it is a known problem with all sorts of dimmer circuits.

I would just contact Logitech's support. They tend to be really good. I broke a keycap on my G710+ and they sent me an entire replacement keycap set, no questions asked.

I know, I'm a electrical engineer (actually not really, graduation is in like 3 weeks :D)

I had the same problem with a iMac led backlight panel. But the replacement was fine.

replacement arrived, sadly the problem consists, so I guess it's by design.

I thinking about buying a Corsair k70, but it's twice the price with the same switches.

Any other recommendations?

it may be some strange interaction with your specific motherboard, at which point you're SOL anyways unless you're prepared to make filter circuitry for the USB voltage.

Now that you mention it. I have the same problem with my Dell monitor and it's built in usb hub. That's why I don't use the hub.

And I had problems with my PC crashing in games and showing the "surge protection triggered" message after reboot. But since I disabled the feature in the BIOS the problems with games crashing are gone. BTW they crashed mostly when hitting a loading screen, that means, they crashed when a load change occurred.

I need a oscilloscope, damn it.

Corsair HX850i, all PC parts are 3month old.

I think I talked with you about this problem in another thread. I remember your profile picture :)

I wonder why they don't advertise it.

Our K70 keyboard comes with top notch buck-converter.

They are truly amazing, never seen before.

I'm sure apple would :D

I bought my BROWN variant literally 4 days ago, and now that you mention, I do hear, the buzzing when I dim the light by the button. I think I'll head back when I have time and have them change it to an other one. Thank God, I filled out the warranty papers.
