I have  i5 4570 CPU(using since Aug - 2013)  with intel in box cooler(standard), i've seen lots of people not even using the intel cooler. so i've decided to upgrade my 3yr old CPU cooler, but i dont know whether my cpu temp is good / my cooler is running good / what if i change my cooler, do i get any performance improvement / do i even need a CPU cooler upgrade? I don't know.

Note: I am a average gamer with a single graphics card ASUS GTX 1060 6GB, i always use default settings in graphics. and i do not do any overclocking kinda stuff.

Can somebody help me here?

What are your temps right now? You won't see any performance increase unless you are already running hot or plan to overclock.

Or a T4; it's smaller so doesn't take up as much room. just depends on what his temps are right now.

Personally, i would get new cpu cooler anyways. It makes thing more quieter and cooler which extend the product life.

I'd agree with the recomendation of the 212 evo if it's needed at all. Temps play a big part in this, but it's no good saying something like "if you're around 45 on idle" etc as you don't know where the OP lives and the ambient temp. The ambient temp could be close to 40, the building might have horrible heat dissipation, so could be even hotter etc... Ambient is always key in trying to figure out cooling problems/solutions IMO.

Why replace the cooler?

You can check your load temps with software like OCCT.

Guys I used CPUID HWMonitor, It shows 45 deg idle(only torrent running) and 65 deg under load(watch dogs running at ultra settings).

So do i need to upgrade my CPU cooler?

My decision - No.. i guess..

Your decision - ? Tell me..

No, you don't need a new cooler. You're fine up to 80-90c at load.
