Missing pin?

deathly2hollow

This is dual 8pins cable from Corsair 500watt PSU. Out of the box I'm pretty sure there's no missing pin Just want to make sure it won't burn my FTW 1080. (English sorry for my bad)

It's normal. Corsair PSUs (and a lot of other brands) seem to have a lot of double wires (two wires from one pin). Found that out when I sleeved my AX860, it's a pain.

Is the one with the missing pin going into the PSU?

If that's the case, it's nothing to worry about. If you're facing the plug, the bottom left three deliver power. The rest are ground (two of them are signal ground, so it's likely one of them is pulling double duty)

Check the wiring to ensure there are no dangling wires.

Just checked my 6+2 pin PEG cables on the Corsair RM650x (I'm aware that the pin-out for the RMx is Type 4 and the CXM is Type 3; however, the difference between the types lies with the extra v.sense wires on the 24 pin and capacitors). There is indeed missing pin there, which two of the wires is sharing the same pin.

Oh, then the CX500M that uses Corsair's own standardized Type 3 cables will not be compatible with the EVGA Supernova 650 P2.
