AMD Zen performance?

How would the compare with Intel processors in terms of performance? i5 or i7? 5th gen or 6th? or better? Any assumptions would be great.

If it exists then there should be benchmarks on google and product pages on retailer websites and you probably wouldn't be asking this question.

So no, currently it does not.

We shall see if it is really broken in a few months.

Obviously it will launch sometime. but it only exists in the lab at this point.

no reliable benchmarks.

ONE "benchmark" from AMD for ONE Zen chip exists, there are NO prices stated so price to performance is UNKNOWN and without that metric it's IMPOSSIBLE to make a judgement or for comparing zen to current products that have been around for a YEAR or MORE.

My crystal ball says a Zen 8 core 16 thread will cost $1000 and be 40% slower than a 5960X, although it will only be 95W.

What repair shop do you use?

Yeah it's pretty obvious it will in the future, AMD already said that many times.

But it doesn't exist in people's hands right now so you might as well ask your dog for Zern benchmarks. xD

I use John's Auto Repair. Very good headlight oil for the ball.

Have you trained your cat to not chew on USB cables? If so, that should be fine.

My cat is always interested in CPU thermal benchmarks, as the top mounted exhaust for the radiator makes a purfect cat bed.

I never let the cat in when I game because she always tries to get my attention and it's getting in the way of my gaming session, so yeah.

Here is what we know

SMT is a thing
Lots of cache
Entirely new design - no more Bulldozer
8 core/16 thread SKEW confirmed
AT LEAST 2.7GHz (I think there was a bench of a 2.7GHz Zen chip, correct me if wrong)
NVMe support

Once upon a time AMD CPU's work in Intel motherboards, however that was when AMD was literally just stealing Intel's designs.

Its not the usb cables. Its the fiber cables. I don't want cat getting lit.
