2 different GPUs

I have a Gigabyte GTX 1060, and I found a R6 260x lying around in my basement. So I was wondering if I could use both of the cards at the same time.

Yep they will work fine.

Yes, you can use them at the same time for separate tasks and displays.

No, they wouldn't be able to work in conjunction for more performance like with crossfire or sli.

You can use them both at the same time but not in SLI/Crossfire, meaning it'll only effect how many monitors can be plugged in, it wouldn't effect performance. it would effect performance if you use one GPU for one thing and the other for another thing.

you can use both and with dx12 you may be able to run then together but as of right now it is just a card that you could use to drive another monitor

I believe windows 10/DX12 is supposed to add a feature like crossfire but with different GPUs? Could be wrong but I thought I heard something about that.

Yes, it is a *feature* within Windows 10 / DX12...but the main question is...

 

Will nVidia or AMD allow you to use a competitor's GPU in mixed SLI/Crossfire?

Probably not.
