Dug an old Dell XPS 8100 mobo out to use for a budget system. Found a Japaneese program that will supposedly overclock the CPU

SetFsb is a legit program, ive used it to overclock several of my dells. Use it with caution ;)

Thanks! how far do you think i can overclock safely without any options in the bios for increasing voltage? its an i7 870, stock clock speed 2.93 GHz.

I dont know, I dont have any experience with overclocking on lga1156.

What I can say though is that most of my lga 775 systems have overclocked about 500MHz above stock.
