I really like my Nitro+ 480. People say it's loud, I really don't think it is.

why? 

 

red devil is cheaper , has a better cooler and comes at 1367mhz  (whit room for more) and has a 6 phase power delivery

I think the ASUS has the highest Factory overclock. Looks really nice in your case too. MSI is also another really good card that looks nice and cools nicely as well.

Nitro, Xfx gtr, msi and his 480s are all better OCers

Looking for pure FPS per dollar, I imagine OP is looking for the cheapest best made card that can reach the highest overclocks. That would be the Sapphire RX 480 Nitro+ 4GB if you're looking for a 4GB RX 480, or the Powercolor RX 480 Red Devil 8GB at the 8GB range. I'll leave links to the best prices below (opt for the 1290 MHz Red Devil to save some money if you're going to be manually overclocking anyway)

 

HOWEVER: It's worth noting right now that you'll be stuck with AMD's WattMan(ager) application for overclocking, and even as a long time AMD fan, this thing sucks! MSI Afterburner and Sapphire TRIXX should be available very soon working with the RX 480.

 

Also, ignore the low reviews for the Red Devil on Newegg. One guy gave it one star because he couldn't hit 1500 MHz with it, which is just a stupidly high OC anyway, and then somebody else was mad that the VRAM didn't overclock very highly, which is a problem with all RX 480s.

Ooh! This is great news! I stand corrected about Afterburner then! I wonder if TRIXX is working on the new Nitro+ cards too? Either way, I stand by my 4GB and 8GB recommendations, only because MSI and Asus are charging too much for factory OCs that can be achieved with manual overclocking on cheaper cards. 

 

The XFX GTR is also a pretty good card! XFX has made leaps and bounds to improve their image, but man do I miss the chrome rings and matte black surface of their old Double Dissipation cards

Not in the UK so it's based on the country you're from  (200/230 quid for the nitro 4GB/8GB RX480 on OCuk which is about 5-10 quid cheaper than other cards as they have free shipping and other cards don't).

I just wish XFX made their 300 cards as quiet as their 200 cards. This card drives me insane when I try to use a custom curve on it, so I'm stuck with the default curve with less than desirable temps.  I plan to sell it when Vega comes out.

Sapphire one has a small cooler and reaches barely below 80c... o3o (ASUS has terrible customer support...)

I guess cheapest after-market version? Normally that is Sapphire or XFX here.

How many phases does the MSI card have? It doesn't seem to matter much since most of the MSI owners I've seen on different forums have no problem hitting 1400+ MHz.
