Hynix sl308 is a great budget choice if you need an ssd for cheap, only slightly slower than an 850 evo. If you have the money for it, go for the 850evo for the longer warranty and better performance.

Get an 850 EVO, I would recommend at least 250GB, 500 is great if you can afford it.

You don't move windows to it, you properly clean install it to avoid issues.

Hello,

I am looking for a new SSD. I will be putting my OS on it alone. Which SSD should I purchase and how should I go about moving Windows 10 onto the SSD? Please let me know.

Regards,

Richard

Ok, saying I go with the 500GB model, how do I mark what I want on the SSD and what I want on the 2 other 1TB HDDs?

You go in file explorer and drag files you want on the HDD to the HDD.

In windows 10 settings you can also change the default location for documents, music, etc... to the HDD.

Yea, I would only want games and the OS on the SSD, not regular school files.

Yeah, so first install windows on the SSD, and install your programs+games.

Then plug in your HDD and format it (if there is stuff you need to keep then move it to the SSD temporarily)

Then in the settings panel change everything except "apps" to D:

Then just cut and paste those files that you put on your SSD temporarily back to the hard drive.

There will be Documents, pictures, etc...  folders on your HDD :)
