No. You can't install an lga1151 cpu in an 1150 motherboard and you can't install an lga1150 cpu in a 1151 motherboard.

No, they are not compatible with each other.

LGA stands for 'line grid array' and the number stands for the amount of lines on the CPU (or pins in the motherboard), so they are not compatible interchangeably.聽

The i7 6700 doesn't work in the same motherboard are the i7 4790, so you indeed would need a new motherboard (and likely RAM too. the i7 4790 and LGA 1150 only supports DDR3 RAM and the i7 6700 does support DDR3, but only a few select motherboards)

Exactly, but don't worry, the upgrade would not be worth it anyway. The performance boost is below 10%.

I don't聽have a motherboard for the i7 4790 so i need to buy that 100%聽

So do I need to buy a 1150 or 1151 (for the i7 6700k) motherboard

Where does the k stands for? That you can overclock聽it?

The K means that you can overclock it through the multiplier, which is easier and safer than other methods. If you already have the 4790 I'd say buy a motherboard for it, as I said spending 350 bucks on a new 6700k is not worth it.
