moving just the os to ssd

Recently, my cousin had bought a samsung ssd and he wants to move his os onto the new ssd for a faster boot time. Is there a way to just migrate the os onto his ssd without needing do a fresh reboot?

Uhm no. You still need reboot. What's wrong with a reboot? Just use Macrium Reflect

And even if you could it would be a bad idea.

 

Do a clean install, it's not hard.

If the OS is partitioned, you can. If not, I'd recommend a clean install.
