Looking for suggestion to upgrade my system in a few steps

Nikonnn

Hi

Im currently looking to upgrade my current system (6 years old) in within the next year but budget wise i will have to go by steps since my car will need an upgrade also.

Current setup

CPU         Intel® Core™ i7-860 Processor
CPU Cooler      Cooler Master Hyper N620
Motherboard     Asus Maximus III Formula
Memory        12288 MB  (DDR3-1333 DDR3 SDRAM)
        2 X Kingston 2 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3
        2 X Kingston 4 GB DDR3-1333 DDR3

Storage
        INTEL SSDSC2CW120A ATA
        KINGSTON SNV425S264GB ATA
        WDC WD1001FALS-00J7B0 (1TB)
        ST2000DM001-9YN164 (2TB )

Video Card     Asus EAH5770

Case        Thermaltake Spedo Advance Package - VI90001W2Z

Power Supply    Antec TPQ-850 850W
OS         Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate

Monitor        2x Samsung SyncMaster T240/24" LCD

1st (short term 1-2 month) upgrading my video card, : My current system still suits me for 99,9% of the work related stuff i do with it, its when it come to video games it started to show its old age,

Mostly playing Blizzard games (Wow, diablo, overwatch...), TF2, WOT, WoWarship,  with the ocasional title like GTA or Tomb raider.

WOW  my fps is averaging 30 most of the time 68 at best but unfortunatly drop frequently to 7-10 when really crowded area (with everything at good or fair).

Im currently thinking about getting a GTX1060  probably the EVGA GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

I dont know if it would be worth it to go up to the 1070.

2nd (mid term 4-8 month)  general upgrade

So far my idea nothing is definitive yet change might happen based on the prices and availability of hardware but the case will be definitly selected with the 3rd step in mind

3rd trying watercooling (future project by the end of next year) nothing planned yet

Suggestions are welcome

Thanks

You need not upgrade your PSU

I recommend a better cooler like this one. http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/product/hJFPxr/deepcool-cpu-cooler-gammaxx400

We have a NEW and GLORIOUSER-ER-ER PSU Tier List Now. (dammit @LukeSavenije stop coming up with new ones)

You can check out the old one that gave joy to so many across the land here

if i were you, i would wait about 6 moths or so for zen to drop, then build a rig from scratch. over time upgrades is not ussualy a great option to go with, and your rig is so far behind that its almost to far gone in terms of upgrading.
