(For the new Attack on Titan game for PS4) How do I defeat the beast Titan in the scout missions?

Every time I attack it says I'm hitting skin and it derails my chain attacks and does almost no damage.

 

I keep completely exhausting my gas and blades and then getting killed because I can't seem to do any serious damage.

 

How in the world do I kill this thing?
