Hey, I'm planning on building my first gaming PC and I was just wondering wether DOA pc hardwares are a common thing. Do you guys have any experience? tia

Getting a dead piece of hardware is luck of the draw. I've bought many parts over the past couple years and only 2 of them turned out to be dead, one being a gpu.

Depending on the modell there is usually a 1-3% RMA rate (that is normal but there are also higher ones). Those are not all necesarilly DOA but something is wrong with them ...

Of thousands of parts I've only had less than 40 pieces I've ever had to RMA. Mainly motherboards, HDD, and some PSU's. It's rare but it does happen which is why you should test every slot for a motherboard and every cable for the PSU when building for anyone.
