XMP question

fc0712

Why would you buy 1600mhz RAM and run it at 1333mhz?

Of course you should run it on it's XMP profile :D

Yes, I would run it with XMP. Unless you are testing for a stable overclock on your CPU where it is recommended that you run the memory at a safe setting to not stress the RAM or IMC whilst overclocking, I believe people do this to eliminate variables and make sure that the overclock is stable first before overclocking the memory.

your ram was made to run at 1600mhz  so it is perfectly safe to run it at that speed.Post your spects here becasue You might have some problems running at 1600mhz if you are using a socket 1156 cpu  because higher speeds than 1333mhz on thoose cpu's are not officially supported, but most are capable without any modifications.

GPU: Gigabyte GTX 570 Super Overclock (@910-970mhz, @2100mhz), CPU: Intel core i5 760 (@3.3-4.2ghz) (4 cores), HDD: Hitachi Deskstar 160gb, 500GB (DEAD)RAM: 8GB DDR3 1333mhz, MOTHERBOARD: Asus P7H55/USB3  PSU: Antec Truepower 550 80+bronze

XMP is the default profile.  You should definitely run it at its default speed.
