Just as the topic says. I am wondering if I can do multiple Displays without a dedicated GPU. I do not need a GPU for anything, however I do want to run multipel displays. The motherboard I have is the MSI Z170A KRAIT GAMING motherboard. I will be using a Intel core i7 6700K for my CPU.

I see that the motherboard has a DVI and HDMI port on the I/O. So in theory I should be able to plug one monitor in with DVI and the other with HDMI correct and I will have a duel display setup without a GPU correct? Or does my motherboard and CPU not support this?

Just asking before my parts come in the mail so I'm not in for any surprises after I build it.

Thank you for the help in advance! :)

Yeah . You can connect two monitors .

Since you for 1 * HDMI and 1 * DVI-D in your Motherboard . Just make sure your driver is in latest version , as you finish the Build and then connect the other secondary displays ..
You will be good to go .

I haven't tested about 3 Monitors .

Yes you can do that, but i recommend you just buy a cheap 50 dollar amd or nvidia graphics card so that the 2 monitors don't suck into your ram. (your integrated gpu doesn't have it's own memory, it steals from your ram

Yep. You can do just that.

The igpus can handle up to 3 monitors(maybe more)

They can only handle more if they have a displayport out and a displayport mst hub is used which can be pretty expensive.

iGPUs can do as many monitors as you have inputs for. Do not expect to use those extra monitors for gaming though.

I don't plan on gaming at all on this PC. I have a separate gaming PC

I will be putting 32 GB of ram in this PC, I think I will be alright. And plus like I said above. I don't plan on gaming so it can't be stealing too much ram right?

The iGPU is limited to 4GB if I remember correctly. Someone else will have to verify.

Either way, it will take up around 2gb of ram plus some of your cache even if you're not gaming
