Wow, that looks awesome!

Can you check out my build and give me some feedback/criticism?

Also, I'm thinking about building a custom loop... Any suggestions on where to start?

buy all your main parts first! (Rad, Res, block (CPU, GPU), and 6 com fittings to get you started.) then you can see if you need a different fitting like a 90, 45 etc. Good luck!

Unfortunately, I have no idea what I'd need or where to look. Can you check out my rig and help me out a bit? It's in the Build Log section.

I'd really like to get 2 watercooled Titans using a 140mm in the back and a tri 120mm in the top. The only watercooling I've ever done is pre-filled (Corsair H100 etc..) so I'll definitely need some help.

Sounds like you want to do quite a bit with the water cooling setup so I recommend looking at some tutorials first, this is a good place to get started http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/a-beginners-guide-for-watercooling-your-pc,1573.html

As far as parts go, just get them from NCIX you will know what you need after looking at some tutorials and guides like the one I gave a link for.

you should swap out those led strips. not a fan of them. in your case its reflecting off psu case. i recommend cathodes. and alway will over led strips. cathodes give more equal light. they might be lil more money but they can light up case pretty nice with 2 of them

Amd fx-8320 oc 4.1ghz, 8gb ram, gtx 780ti 3gb, 240gb ssd, 1.5tb hdd,

Quick update (part 3) waiting on the new tubing and new fittings. Got cable ties from my work. (Heavy Duty Equipment), we have all the colors and sizes lulz. 20130320_064754_zps96c38cc8.jpg

Took out the front panel and took out the cables I didn't use or need because they were getting in the way, plus they were thick.

20130320_194310_zps007a41ff.jpg

I gotta say it looks way better now.

This post is the last post I'll be doing for this build so.....here we go!

20130321_161212_zps00fd8815.jpg

Tubing

20130321_161231_zps66d79a87.jpg

Bitspower 3/8 IN 5/8 OD

20130321_170210_zpsad873fa5.jpg

Tubing connected (Res -> Rad -> CPU Block -> Top of motherboard -> Bottom of motherboard -> Res)

20130321_171040_zps6d5b1984.jpg

First dump of liquid into the Res

20130321_171046_zps31f81704.jpg

Filling to max then shut off after min

20130321_171411_zps193cb6e6.jpg

Second dump

20130321_181942_zps59e5076a.jpg

After third dump all good, then after a hour or so it was dripping from the in port of the Swiftech Apogee.

20130321_182010_zps43b09f71.jpg

After a quick fix, the o-ring of the fitting was getting pulled off and was getting caught in the thread of the waterblock.

20130321_182014_zps01b34bf0.jpg

Barb fitting on the Asus Maximus V Formula (what a pain) got some black clamps :) looks fairly nice

20130321_202324_zps15976ec7.jpg

after a 30 hour test nothing is wrong :)

20130322_163847_zps03d598a9.jpg

Woke up in the morning and did some cable management. It look way better then before. Plus with all the things I have in it, it look awesome.

20130322_164135_zpsc91ad0e0.jpg

Have my Asus Matrix HD7970 Platinum in it, (takes up a lot of space). Might get a waterblock for it later this year, will need another 240 for that.

20130322_182925_zps35d22a02.jpg

Final resting place :)

Thanks for everyone who came in here and checked out my build LTT for life.

If you have any questions just post in here and I will get back to you.

(Camera Galaxy S3, I will post some better photos next week some time with a Canon 60D)

  • 4 weeks later...

I am about to water cool my system including my Matrix Platinum with the EK waterblock. A word of warning the water block weighs a ton. I will have to come up with some sort of support as i would not be happy leaving it on its own. But the block does look fantastic and there will be less noise when the GPU gets warm as there will be no fans to ramp up.

Asus Maximus VI Hero , i5 4670k , 8gb Corsair vengeance ddr3, Asus HD 7970 matrix platinum, Corsair AX860, Ocz agility 3 120gb ssd, 1tb wd green hdd, custom water loop. All in an Antec p280

I'm looking for a new Graphics Card and thought the Matrix Platinum 7970. Is it worth the money for the power or is it a bad card. (Hope someone will answer)
