Good motherboard and CPU combo, I've used both in the past along side a GTX 950 from Gigabyte and it was great.

Don't, it's a DDR3 mobo, and DDR3 on skylake is kind of a partial support. Go DDR4.

I only have DDR3 ram,

Trust me, I have a i3 6100

4 pin power is all u need for not overclocking (you would need a z170 chipset for that anyways)

Go ddr4, trust me it makes the difference on this CPU. It is expensive so I only have 8 GB DDR4 but that is plenty for $30 (Granted mine was used)

This MOBO should be great!

You can get pretty cheap ddr4:

You can use that board and it will work. However keep in mind while some boards "support" DDR3, the controller isn't actually meant for it, as it uses lower voltages.

Running over 1.35V with DDR3 can damage the CPU over time.

Decided to make the switch to DDR4.

This helped alot, so getting one stick of DDR4 is cheaper, and does it let me upgrade to 16 gb of RAM eventually?
