Pascal or Maxwell?

Go to solution Solved by PCGuy_5960,

GTX 1070, as it's better at DirectX 12, which BF1 uses...

Thinking of upgrading my gfx card ready for bf1. Not sure wether it is better to get a 1070 (£400) or the equally performing 980ti? (£360) or even a 980 ~ 16% under [performance overally wise) 980ti for (£270). I want your guys opinion on what to go for, and if it will be worth the premium going for the newer pascal. Power consumption is not an issue as I have 750w and I need over 150fps on 1080p ideally on bf1 to maximise my monitor for which this will power so any other suggestions welcome.

1070. People are going to try to argue that the 980ti when heavily overclocked will get you similar or better performance.... People claim a lot of things. there isn't really any reason to get that over the 1070 nowadays. even a 40 dollar price difference... just get the 1070

I'd go for the 1070 as the price difference is small and you'll have the newest generation which is always good.

If it's only £40 of difference, get the 1070.

Also, Jesus Christ, 980Tis are sub-£400 now? I remember when the average 980Ti was £550+ :P

In DX11, may I add.... In DX12 the 1070 is better than the 980 Ti in every instance
