Asus strix 1080 availability

Anyone know why these cards are taking so long? My local memory express had one in stock for a few hours yesterday. Anyone have any insight on this?

Because they are the most in demand 1080. Prices on them have fluctuated like crazy due to the demand, up to £800 at one point, while they launched at £619.

Just look at Microcenter, Newegg, Amazon, Fry's, BH Photo Video.

 

You'll find one.

All the evga cards are in stock tho 10+ in some stores in my city

I have found many for 629.99$ online and my microcenter has them and still has them right now.

Yes because everyone wants the Strix 1080 this time around. Like back with the 970 / 980s, everyone wanted the Gigabyte G1 because that was the best one.

Order it online, warehouses have much more stock than physical stores do.

It's in stock on newegg and amazon, for an extremely high price because they are low on stock.

NCIX and memory express have it available on backorder.

 

You can either buy a different brand GPU, or backorder it and wait for the shipment to arrive.

yeah backordering it is the plan. i was more so wondering if there was some other reason for the shortage, i heard some speculation on a heatpipe being manufactured wrong, but if the shortage is due to demand i'm going to pull the trigger on an order.

Uh no, they just get shipped in batches and when one runs out they need to wait for more.

It's the same for every GPU manufacturer, they just ship at different times so they go out of stock at different times.

Just went to the store yesterday, they had just got 10 in stock, which seems like it happens every week. So I finally bought one.
