The Call of Duty era has gone, Let's welcome the TF2 era.

FPS-Russia

*facepalm*

Why is there no more originality? Quake is Quake, it sells it's self from it's own fame as a great arena game?

  1. There are a finite number of stories/ideas. Most games are just a remake of another game that already exists.
  2. It's much cheaper and easier to continue a series than come up with a new story/concept/game.

This is Team Fortress 4 though? Overwatch is TF3.

Gameplay wise, I can't argue with you: Overwatch is indeed TF3, and in some ways, it's a lot more fun than Team Fortress was too.

Price wise, it's most definitely not TF3, as Team Fortress was always sold for around $20 USD before becoming Free 2 Play.

I understand Blizzard is putting work into the game, and it's not Free to Play (yet), but I simply cannot justify ~$50 CAD for Overwatch.

When Blizzard smartens up and reduces the price to what a Team Fortress game is worth, I'll jump all over it.

But if the gaming community demands TF like games then doesn't it make sense prices of these games would go up?

TF2 is copying another game. Music has the same problem since there are only so many chords that you can play. TF2 is somewhat boring since everyone ends up going for kills rather than the objective. Overwatch doesn't care for K/D but rather how you do in-game as a team member. Honestly, I might be interested in Quake 4.

Also, TF2 is pretty much Quake Arena.

Technically, yes, due to the way supply and demand apparently works. It's why "AAA" games have slowly climbed from $39 to $79 over the years.

For me though, the value of goods is determined by what I'm willing to pay for them, and not by what someone else tells me they're worth.

If the demand is great and people don't mind paying more for the same re-hashed game though, then great for them! Enjoy the game.

My friends keep asking me when I'm going to buy it and my answer is still "when I believe it's being sold for a good price."

I got TF2 when it was 20 and played about 16 hours. I bought Overwatch for... 52? and played about 100 hours. Much more enjoyable to play a game that isn't just one class "cuz k/d matters, bruh!".
