why 6600k? with 6500 is enough and has the same performance at stock and is cheaper also that 1060 with only one fan? and why 100$ mobo? 60-80$ for solo gaming and streaming is enough, he wont going to overclock and its a waste of money i guess

I'd personally go for the forementioned builds.

But if you can wait for 2 weeks after your savings around $200 extra, you can go for this sick build. Gaming on 1440p with 1070.

Sadly, that i5 will bottleneck the 1070... In addition, he asked for a mouse and keyboard as well...

I meant 1070, I accidentally wrote 1080...

And if you overclock the i5....it will not bottleneck the 1070 MUCH, the bottleneck will be present, but minimal...

i5+1080=BOTTLENECK

This really depends on resolution, on 1080p every known processor will be bottleneck. On higher I would be not so sure about that, and how additional 4 threads will not bottleneck? I don't understand. It is not like more cores = higher fps lol

Also... future proof? it is not like games will stand still in one place, they constantly improves which needs processing power.

@kameshss That CPU will bottleneck the FUCK out of that GTX 1070

@PCGuy_5960 Even if you OC a i5 6600k to 4.5 It's still gonna bottleneck in games such as GTA 5 10-15%

@NaLu Games tend to use more than 4 cores, some even 8 cores,so those 4 threads more REALLY help in games such as GTA 5,Arma etc...

I probably should have clarified that.... I meant that in most games it shouldn't bottleneck the 1070 much... Of course in CPU intensive games it is going to be a bottleneck...

@keNNySOC Kinda yes, but two questions. First is, how much % advantage gets i7 to i5 in most games. Second - price/fps, price/performance relation. Would you choose slightly better CPU than more powerful GPU?

Yes, because with a more powerful CPU you have the ability to buy a more powerful GPU later and not worry about bottlenecking... Eg, if you buy a 6700K/6800K/5820K instead of a 6600K, you can buy a Titan X in the future or go 1080 SLI and not have any bottlenecks

But still the most FPS gain from GPU. By the time you will change your GPU your old CPU (no matter how powerful) will be bottleneck compared to newer CPUs in new games

(like 4690k to 6600k, generation to generation). If I would have limited resources logical move would be to buy slightly weaker CPU and then save money for new GPU. Simply compare one generation of CPU benchmarked in games over the years , there is no reason to go with better cpu since in newer games ('cos that's why you buy new GPU) your cpu will be outdated and performance will drop and difference will blend... Or at least it is how I see it.

That depends on the game and GPU,in some games the i7 gets a 10fps advantage over the i5,while stopping any bottlenecks and being more future proof so i would get the GTX 1070 and break the budget to get the i7 since it will really help

right. ok. I wonder which processor can be used with 1070 other than i7. This puts limit to budget kinda users from buying i5 CPUs. Xeon 1231 V3 or 1230 v5 can do the job right? Even if it does, no OC option :/
