Hey there fellow pc builders,

I was looking to buy myself a new pc, but in the Netherlands this is all very expensive, so I decided not to build one from the ground of. I decided to buy a desktop with a solid i5 processor and a 730 graphics card, looking to replace that graphics card with an rx 480, which my dad could bring from one of his business trips to America for a reasonable price. But, after recieving the pc, it turned out the 730 graphics card didn't have a 6-pin connector on it, it ran solely powered by the motherboard. This is an issue, seeing that I can now now longer swap it out for an rx 480, because I don't have a 6- pin connector to power it. Then a really crazy idea popped into my head, what if I were to buy a cheap 30-ish euro powersupply just to give the rx 480 its power. Do you guys this would work, or have any tips on how to do it otherwise? That would be greatly appreciated.

Cheap psu = house fire

it may work but it is very much not recommended, the best solution would be to do it properly and get a better psu.

Those are very low end evga psus, and even though they are evga they are not great at all, I would recommend a seasonic, xfx, or corsair cx with the grey label to run the entire system with, you should only need about a 500w psu depending on the rest of the system.

Simple and cheap, It's quite a bit better in terms of quality of components than the EVGA 80+ white PSU you've listed so...go for that? :D

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...
